Logo Competition

The Friends logo was created in 2003 as a result of a competition. Children from Foxdale Primary School were invited to design a logo that would impart the atmosphere of the glens. The brief was that it should be clear, simple, and work both in colour and black/white.

Extract from minutes -

Following the extraordinary meeting of the friends to decide on a winner for the Logo competition.  Andrew Bothwell Age 10 is our winner with runner up Scott Kermeen.  Craig Lemaire and Sophie Lund were highly commended. Peter Knowles and Kath Smith have arranged with Foxdale School to make the presentation of Binoculars for our winner and wildlife and nature books for our runner up and highly commended entries. Peter will also present the School with a tree to plant in their grounds as a thank you for the Schools support.  It was agreed that Lee Fallaize, who has cleaned up the image slightly on a computer will send a letter of thanks to the School using the new logo on headed paper. Lee will also make certificates for the winning entries and contact the newspaper regarding the presentation to hopefully get a photographer present at the prize giving that will be on Wed 3^rd December at Foxdale School.
